Apple is expected to reveal more details about the new iPhones this September. In relation, the iOS 17 public beta is now more stable than it was first released a couple of months ago. For those who are interested in checking out the iOS 17 a little bit early, it’s now less risky to venture into it.

As a precaution, iOS 17 is still in beta. Be sure to backup your data. Just in case.

What are some of the cool things to expect in iOS 17?

StandBy Mode turns your iPhone into a clock you place in landscape mode while it’s charging on a magnetic wireless stand. It’s one of the features Apple is showing off the most. There are fully customizable watch faces you will be able play with and more should roll out soon when the official iOS 17 launches.

Contact Posters is actually a very cool feature as it allows you to customize contacts, including yourself. You change the font, photo, and the background. This seems to be the start of Apple’s attempt to make things more “fun.” You will be able to wirelessly exchange Contact Posters with other iOS 17 users via NameDrop.

Personal Voice caused quite a stir when it was first announced. It’s when Apple takes data from your voice and is able to replicate it. I’m sure it won’t be an exact copy of your voice, but it would sound enough of yourself. Apple says this is for people, who, in the future, may lose their voice in the future via diseases or whatnot.

Apple Maps is going offline, so you should be able to save battery and data. It’s a nice feature. Though I’m not sure how many people use Apple Maps in the country. Most of us probably just use Waze, or ask some random person on the street for directions. Still, having an offline map may become useful.

Password sharing is part of the iKeychain Vault upgrades. This allows you to seamlessly share passwords with trusted contacts. Finally, a solution whenever someone asks for our wifi password, which I always forget.

iOS 17 will now also automatically delete messages containing your 2FA codes. This is useful because it reduces your clutter, and keeps from anyone else spotting your 2FA code.

Adaptive Audio is entering iOS 17. If you have Apple AirPods Pro 2, Adaptive Audio will see to improving your audio experience, tailored especially for you. It features Adaptive Noise Control, which allows you to adjust the noise you can hear from outside, which is pretty handy when you’re out. Personalized Volume is more straightforward, as it adjusts the volume of the media you’re listening to. And then there’s Conversation Awareness, which lowers the volume of what you’re listening to whenever it detects you speaking.

These are only some of the available features that will come with iOS 17. You can expect more to be revealed once Apple announces the iPhone 15 series soon. The iOS 17 beta is available to try out via the Apple website and is compatible from iPhone Xs and above, including the 2nd generation of iPhone SE.
