Student dies in Calamba fire

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – A student died in a fire that razed his house in Laguna Buenavista Executive Homes, Barangay Barandal, this city, on Monday, August 28.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Calamba identified the victim as Louie Antipuesto.

A housemate of the victim told arson investigators that they were sleeping on the second floor of the house with the victim’s mother and two cousins when they heard him scream in his ground floor bedroom at 5:30 a.m.

They opened the door but were blocked by thick smoke coming from downstairs.

They managed to get out of the house but the victim was left inside and was charred to death.

The BFP is still investigating the cause of the fire.
