Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian ordered the Disaster Response and Management Group (DRMG) on Tuesday, Aug. 29 to immediately dispatch food packs to flood-affected areas in the Visayas and Mindanao.
DRMG Assistant Secretary Marlon Alagao said they are coordinating with the Visayas Disaster Resource Center (VDRC) for the swift dispatch of family food packs (FFPs), particularly for Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, and Northern Mindanao.
“We have coordinated with VDRC, which can prepare 39,100 FFPs for dispatch Tuesday until Thursday (Aug. 31),” Alagao said.
