Drug pusher yields P614,000 shabu in Batangas City

BATANGAS CITY – A 44-year-old drug pusher was apprehended and suspected shabu worth P614,000 was seized in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Alangilan, this city, on Tuesday, August 29.

Police identified the suspect as Edsel Melo, alias “Torne,” a high-value individual (HVI) and a resident of Jasmin Drive, Analyn Subdivision, here.

Seized from Melo were five transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 90.3 grams and Dangerous Drug  Board (DDB) value of P614,000 and the buy-bust money.

The recovered illegal drugs will be taken to the Batangas Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination. 

Suspect will undergo a physical examination at the Batangas Medical Center.

Melo faces drug-related charges. Suspect is detained at the Batangas City police station.
