Chappy cab driver nabbed in Carcar City for raping girl, 15

CEBU CITY – A 22-year-old Chappy cab driver was arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in Carcar City, southern Cebu.

Police said a complaint for rape was filed on Tuesday, August 29, against John Fritz Alesna Terogo.

Investigators said the abuse happened at past 1 a.m. on Saturday, August 26.

Police said the suspect saw the girl crying in front of a church and offered her a ride.

It was learned that the girl was scolded by her father and went to the church crying.

The girl rode the cab when the suspect promised to bring her home, police said.

Police said that instead of bringing the girl home, the suspect brought the girl to a grassy area and raped her.

The victim then reported the incident to her parents, who brought her to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for examination.

From the hospital, the parents went to the police to report the abuse.

Police said the suspect tried to escape but was eventually cornered.

Lawmen said there was security camera footage showing the girl boarding the suspect’s cab.
