157 barangay, SK election bets file COCs in Pateros

A total of 157 bets for the Oct. 30 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs) in the first two days of filing in Pateros.

This was according to Commission on Elections (Comelec)-Pateros acting Election Officer Armando Mallorca.

On the first day of COC filing on Aug. 28, a total of 111 candidates filed their COCs with the Comelec-Pateros office.

Of the total, seven filed their candidacy for the position of barangay chairman, 53 for barangay kagawad, seven for SK chairperson, and 44 for SK kagawad.

On the second day of filing on Aug. 29, 46 submitted their COCs. Three of them for barangay chairman, 31 for barangay kagawad, three for SK chairperson and nine for SK kagawad.

There are 10 barangays in Pateros. These are Aguho, Magtanggol, Martirez del â€˜96, Poblacion, San Pedro, San Roque, Sta. Ana, Sto. Rosario Kanluran, Sto. Rosario Silangan, and Tabacalera.

Mallorca holds a Facebook live broadcast daily during the filing of COCs to inform candidates who have not yet submitted their COCs if there is a long line of people.
