SPD arrests 226 violators, seizes P2.17 M illegal drugs in past week
The Southern Police District (SPD), headed by Brig. Gen. Roderick Mariano, said operatives arrested 226 persons and seized P2.17 million worth of illegal drugs from Aug. 21 to 27.
According to the SPD, 83 persons involved in illegal drug activities were arrested in the past week. The operations resulted in the confiscation of 319.44 grams of shabu and 2.4 grams of marijuana with a total value of P2.17 million. Among them were suspects arrested in Taguig and Paranaque.

In addition, 83 persons were arrested for illegal gambling in the SPD area with a combined total of P15,261.50 in bet money seized.
The SPD also recovered 14 firearms and arrested five persons including a suspected member of the notorious Kelly Calauad Dongalo robbery-holdup and carnapping criminal group in Taguig.
The district also arrested 55 wanted persons consisting of eight top most wanted, 14 other most wanted persons, and 33 other wanted persons.

These measures demonstrate our commitment to protecting our communities and combating the drug epidemic, and they send a clear message that illicit activities will not be permitted within the SPD's authority,” said Mariano.
