CANDELARIA, Quezon – A 45-year-old man arrested nine years ago for a gun and drug case was shot dead on the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Malabanban Norte, this town, on Monday afternoon, August 28.
Police identified the victim as Rico Alvis of Sitio Tibanglan, Barangay Malabanban.
Investigation said the victim was driving his motorcycle when the suspects appeared and shot him.
Alvis died from multiple bullet wounds.
The suspects fled and are now the subject of a manhunt.
Six red cartridge cases for caliber .45 were found at the crime scene.
Police said the victim was arrested on November 21, 2014 for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 and violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
