Man arrested for violating gun ban in Laguna

ALAMINOS, Laguna – A 58-year-old man was apprehended for violating the election gun ban in Barangay Poblacion here on Monday, August 28.

Police Lt. Gen.  Rhoderick Armamento, commander of the Area Police Command for South Luzon, identified the suspect as Efren Robiso, married, jobless, and a resident of Barangay Poblacion.

Police here nabbed Robiso after a concerned citizen reported that the suspect was illegally discharging a caliber.38 Smith and Wesson revolver.

Robiso yielded the gun loaded with four bullets and a fired cartridge case.

He is now under the custody of the Alaminos Municipal Police Station.

The confiscated firearm and ammunition are now under the custody of the Logistic Section for proper disposition and filing of appropriate charges.

Armamento said that the suspect violated Republic Act 10591 in relation to the Implementation of the election gun ban which started on August 28.
