Kai Sotto is keeping his poise despite the disappointing loss of Gilas Pilipinas to Angola and intends to use the learnings for their next game against Italy on Tuesday, Aug. 29.

Sotto was one of the main guys that fueled the Nationals in the waning minutes of the final frame, cutting the lead to just five by draining a couple of free throws.
“Marami pa rin ang pagkukulang. Maraming pwedeng i-improve kasi syempre wala namang perfect game kahit manalo ka,” Sotto said.
“I’m proud of the effort from everybody sa team, kung anuman natutunan namin from this game, ia-add namin [iyon] against Italy,” he added.
Sotto registered eight points and six rebounds despite battling foul trouble throughout the match.
The 7-foot-3 cager alongside AJ Edu, RR Pogoy, Rhenz Abando and Jordan Clarkson rallied Gilas to an 11-0 run with a minute remaining in the game but came up short against the tough stand of Angola.
Pogoy also expressed his disappointment as they had a lackluster performance midway of the fourth salvo.
“Nakuha naman, sayang lang kinapos tayo,” Pogoy said as he added eight points for the Philippines.
