The Eastern Police District (EPD) assured the public of its readiness to provide security and assistance for the resumption of classes on Tuesday, Aug. 29.

According to the EPD, led by District Director Brig. Gen. Wilson Asueta, a total of 652 personnel are ready to be deployed, and subsequently augmented as needed, to secure all schools in the Eastern portion of the National Capital Region (NCR).
Support units from the Tactical Motorcycle Riding Units (TMRU), Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and K9, along with foot and mobile patrol have been dispersed around the schools' vicinities.
Police Assistance Desks have also been installed near schools, serving as the "frontline in aiding public concerns," said the EPD.
"I also encourage the public, especially the students, to immediately report to the nearest Police Station and or approach our Police Officers if there are any suspicious activities that may take them at risk," said Asueta.
The EPD and the police stations in Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, and San Juan have also coordinated meetings and dialogues with school officials and other educational agencies to help expand public safety services.
