BSKE candidates in Bulacan file their COCs

Despite the inclement weather in Bulacan, several barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) candidates gathered at various Commission on Election (Comelec) offices  to file their Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) early Monday morning, Aug. 28.

The filing of COCs will be held until Friday, Sept. 2, according to Comelec.

Comelec Chairman George Garcia  reminded the candidates that the campaign period for the village and youth council polls will be from Oct.19-29 and not immediately after the filing of their COCs.

Garcia said that after the filing of the COCs, all campaign materials of the candidates posted along the streets must be removed because the Comelec will file charges against them and call for their disqualification.

Meanwhile, Provincial election supervisor Comelec Mona Ann T. Aldana lauded the Bulacan police for being the first to set up the Comelec checkpoints in Region III.
