BACOLOD CITY – A man sitting on a pedicab was shot dead in Barangay 5, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on Saturday, August 26.
The victim was identified as Johnryl Calunsag, 34, of Barangay 3, San Carlos City.
Police Lt. Col. Jesus Mesahon, San Carlos police chief, said the victim had four bullet wounds, in the chest, head, and hand, and was declared dead in a hospital.
Mesahon said they received information that victim was killed due a failed illegal drug transaction.
However, police could not confirm this pending investigation.
Mesahon said the victim had no police record.
He said they have two persons of interest as the gunman reportedly had a companion.
Police recovered from the crime scene four fired bullets and a deformed slug of a .45 caliber firearm.
