HOUSE Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez speaks at the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair dry run at the Biliran Province State University Gym in Naval, Biliran on Saturday morning, August 26.

The event marks the start of putting together 50 programs and services of some 33 government agencies, including delivery of an estimated P80-million worth of assistance, under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

The House leader, in partnership with Tingog party-list Reps. Yedda Marie Romualdez and Jude Acidre, led the pilot launching of the Serbisyo Fair at the Biliran Province State University in Naval.

Romualdez said that the goal is to respond to the challenge posed by Marcos to speed up the delivery of government services to the farthest corners of the country.

The program is intended to be replicated in every province.

“In response to President Marcos Jr.'s challenge, we thought of launching Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair, together with the whole House of Representatives,” Romualdez said.

With the launching of the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair, which hopes to serve over 900,000 citizens, Romualdez said the contributions of the House of Representatives will no longer be confined to the walls of the chamber but can be directly felt by the communities and the people themselves.

Biliran Rep. Gerardo Espina Jr. said the province of Biliran is glad to host the dry-run of the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair.

In Biliran, around 26,000 people benefitted from the services and programs of various government agencies, with about 20,000 receiving cash assistance from AICS, TUPAD, and scholarships, while over 5,000 residents received non-cash assistance like health and medical services.
