Eleven persons were reportedly hurt during a fire that broke out at a residential area in Barangay Culiat, Quezon City on Sunday evening, Aug. 27.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the victims included residents and fire responders who sustained different injuries such as lacerations in different parts of the body, second degree burns, difficulty in breathing, and dislocated shoulders.
The BFP said the fire on Vargas Lane, Barangay Culiat was raised to the first alarm at around 9 p.m.

The fire status escalated to the fourth alarm at 9:49 p.m. and to the fifth alarm at 10:13 p.m.
Firefighters were able to put the fire under control at around 12:22 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 28.
The blaze was extinguished at around 2:56 a.m.
Authorities have yet to determine the estimated amount of damage to property caused by the fire as well as the number of families affected.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
