CAMP GEORGE T. BARBERS, Surigao City – Thirty-eight police non-commissioned officers from the Police Regional Office-13 are undergoing training for the next higher rank.
These Police Executive Master Sergeants (PEMS) are taking the Public Safety Officers Candidate Course (PSOCC) Batch 2023-02 that started Friday, August 25, at the Regional Training Center (RTC) here.
They belong to different units in Caraga and are part of the training lineal list.
The six-month PSOCC is a requirement for promotion from PEMS to police lieutenant.
PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Kirby John B. Kraft was the guest of honor and speaker during the opening ceremony.
Kraft was welcomed by RTC staff and personnel led by Police Col. Edcille V. Canals.
In his message, Kraft emphasized the responsibility to become leaders in their units.
"This training is not an option; it is a responsibility that you owe to yourselves, to your colleagues, and to the communities. Embrace this opportunity to become the leaders our noble profession demands and our Caraganons deserve,” he said.
“I encourage you to become the next generation of the police commissioned officers who reflect a deep sense of duty and a willingness to face challenges head-on," Kraft added.
He reminded the trainees to take the course with an open mind and heart and be the public servants they have sworn to be in accordance with the five-focused agenda of PNP chief Police Gen. Benjamin C. Acorda Jr.
“This is the top priority program in our enforcement of laws of our mandatory task,” Kraft said.
