BACOLOD CITY – Two senior citizens graduated from high school through the Alternative Learning System (ALS) in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental on August 25.
NENITA Trenia, 88, of Barangay Haguimit, and Violeta Niña, 83, of Barangay Ara-al, receive their diploma during the 11th Closing Exercise of ALS of the Division of La Carlota City at the city gymnasium on August 25.
Both of them were awarded as the oldest ALS completers among the more than 600 learners during the graduation rites.
A total of 638 junior high school learners and 168 elementary learners completed their primary and secondary education.
Trenia and Niña were accompanied by their families during their graduation.
City officials led by Mayor Rex Jalando-on and Dr. Ermi V. Miranda, La Carlota School Division superintendent, graced the occasion.
