Valenzuela City Library receives 'Most Innovative Public Library' award

The Valenzuela City Library was hailed as the "Most Innovative Public Library" during the 2023 Gawad Pampublikong Aklatan on Friday, Aug. 25.


The award was given by the National Library of the Philippines at the Epifanio Delos Santos Auditorium of Pambansang Aklatan ng Pilipinas.
The Valenzuela City Library won the two major awards -- Most Innovative Public Library in Library Programs and Activities Conducted (Innovative) and the Most Innovative Public Award in Library Programs and Activities Conducted (Inclusive).
The Mot Innovative Public Library Award is the highest and most prestigious recognition conferred by the National Library of the Philippines to outstanding personnel, librarians, administrators, and public libraries that consistently provide high-quality library services to their communities.
Officials of the Valenzuela City Library expressed their gratitude to Valenzuela City Mayor Weslie “WES” Gatchalian, city officials, Department of Social Welfare Development (DSWD) Secretary Rexlon”Rex” Gatchalian, their partners, public schools, and volunteers for their support to the facility.
“The Valenzuela City Library continuously creates programs and services relevant to the Pamilyang Valenzuelano's daily life and the local community that it serves, basing them on its people's diverse needs and interests,” the Valenzuela City Library posted on its Facebook page.
The city library aims to be a creative and dynamic third space, both inclusive and innovative, to serve the city residents better.
According to the National Library of the Philippines, more than 70 outstanding employees and administrators of public libraries were honored during the event.
Representatives from public libraries from diffirent parts of the country attended the awarding ceremony.
