Police seize P934,000 'shabu,' arrest 16 drug suspects in QC stings

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) confiscated more than P934,000 worth of "shabu" and arrested 16 drug peddlers in a series of buy-bust operations in the city that started on Aug. 24.



One of the suspects, identified as Sofia Necio, 24, was nabbed by operatives of QCPD's District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) around 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 24 at the corner of Road 18 and Shorthorn St. in Barangay Bahay Toro, Quezon City, after a poseur-buyer bought P17,000 worth of alleged shabu from her.
Police also confiscated from her around 45 grams of the illegal drug with a street value of P306,000, a black vape, a cellular phone, and the buy-but money.
Meanwhile, Batasan Police Station (PS 6) nabbed suspect Benhar Abdulhamid around 9 p.m. on Aug. 25 in an entrapment involving P75,000 worth of shabu in front of Puregold Commonwealth, Barangay Old Balara, Quezon City.
Seized from his possession were around 50 grams of shabu with a street value of P340,000, a blue plastic bag, a cellular phone, and the buy-bust money.
Also, members of Talipapa Police Station, Novaliches Police Station, Fairview Police Station, Project 4 Police Station, Anonas Police Station, Galas Police Station, and Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station arrested 14 other drug peddlers and seized a total of P288,320 worth of shabu in separate buy-bust operations in a span of three days.
