Man wanted for rape nabbed in Iloilo

ILOILO CITY – A man who is among the most wanted persons in Western Visayas for rape was nabbed in Iloilo on Friday, August 25.

Police withheld the name of the 22-year-old suspect wanted for six counts of rape but said he was arrested in Dumangas.

The Dumangas Municipal Police Station apprehended the suspect with the support of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Intelligence Unit (IPPO-PIU) and the 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company.

Police Brig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor, director of the Police Regional Office (PRO)-6, lauded the apprehending units for arresting the suspect.

“This is a manifestation that the police is steadfast in giving justice to the victims of crimes in the region,” said Villaflor in a statement.

Prior to his arrest, the suspect was listed as the No. 1 most wanted person in Iloilo and Western Visayas.

Villaflor assured there is no letup in their campaign to apprehend wanted persons in Western Visayas to give justice to their victims.
