BUTUAN CITY – To empower the youth in nation-building and peacekeeping, the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division of the Police Regional Office-13 launched the “Pulis Kaabag Ko” outreach program at the Home for the Boys in Barangay Antongalon here on Wednesday, August 23.
Wards aged seven to 13 listened to the spiritual enhancement led by Pastor Oronito G. Abendanio, PNP-Caraga life coach, and received packs consisting of basic needs and toiletries.
A feeding session was held afterwards among the beneficiaries together with Jovelyn Reloi, House Parent of the Home for the Boys.
The children were entertained by the Trese Sajow Manikyads, a PRO-13 dance troupe.
“We are dedicated to help these young individuals overcome their challenges and become productive members of society,” PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Kirby John B. Kraft said in a message.
“Together, we can rewrite their stories and offer them a path towards a brighter future,” he said.
Kraft added that the PRO-13 outreach program for children will continue without letup as he encouraged other field units to help the “Tulong para sa Kapwa” program.
The Home for the Boys here is a non-stock, non-profit organization and is accredited as a temporary shelter for young delinquents who were once involved in committing petty crimes.
