‘One Piece’ creator Eiichiro Oda pens fifth letter for fans; Netflix drops Japanese dubbed trailer


Netflix and Shuiesha released a letter from Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the world's most legendary and popular manga series in history, “One Piece,” to give update for fans ahead of the release of the live action series on Aug. 31. 

“Believe it or not, that world actually exists... it's ready!! The live action one piece!! Since it's Netflix, you can watch it in your household or on your smartphone. But it might as well be a movie, so you should watch it on as big a screen as possible, with the volume cranked up, and enjoy it as many times as you'd like!!” said Oda in his fifth letter.

He added, “See, you can start to hear it... the fearsome roar of the pirates! Do you have your swords? Food all ready? Whatever you do, spare your lives! Off you go!! On to the great pirate era!!!”

Netflix also released the Japanese dubbed trailer of “One Piece” the original anime “Straw Hat” voice actors (Mayumi Tanaka, Kazuya Nakai, Akemi Okamura, Kappei Yamaguchi and Hiroaki Hirata), who will all be reprising their roles in the “One Piece” live action series. 

It was previously announced that a series of 10 fan celebrations will take place around the globe, including the US, France, Indonesia, Japan, Italy, Philippines, Thailand, Germany, Brazil, and Mexico.

“One Piece” stars Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Additional cast includes Vincent Regan, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino, Morgan Davies, Aidan Scott, Langley Kirkwood, Jeff Ward, Celeste Loots, Alexander Maniatis, McKinley Belcher III, Craig Fairbrass, Steven Ward, Chioma Umeala, and Michael Dorman.
