Erwin Tulfo banking on 'Pinoy fighting spirit' to pull Gilas through

The “Filipino fighting spirit” will be on full display from Gilas Pilipinas during this year's FIBA World Cup.

House Deputy Majority Leader and ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo shared this belief Friday, Aug. 25, the same day that the Philippine national basketball team was scheduled to begin its World Cup campaign against the Dominican Republic.

"Good luck Gilas 🙂," Tulfo wrote in a Facebook post.

"Alam naman namin na mabigat ang laban pero syempre (We know that the battle ahead is tough but of course) we know that the 'Filipino Fighting Spirit' will shine and the 'never surrender' attitude will prevail," he said.

"We know that you will always put up a good fight and that is enough," underscored the rookie solon.

Tulfo further said that the entire nation of over 120 million Filipinos will be supporting the Gilas campaign.

The Philippines is co-hosting the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
