Dolly de Leon praises Kathryn Bernardo's acting skills
Seasoned actress Dolly de Leon is a huge fan of Kathryn Bernardo, her co-star in the upcoming "A Very Good Girl."
"She's so good," Dolly reiterated. "Ang galing-galing niya."
To illustrate, she pointed out Kathryn's skill and precision as an actor.
"Whenever the camera is angled a certain way - ako kasi I'm not a very technical actor, in fact, I don't look at the monitor after the take - pero she's (Kathryn) very technical, which is a very good thing. Alam niya how to play with the camera. Kabisado niya yung face niya. She's very in touch with her emotions and vulnerability. She can bring it out and flesh it out to make it work with the angle of the camera. It's a skill that I don't have."
Dolly also appreciates Kathryn being "generous" as an actress.
She explained, "Kunwari may camera dito, ako yung artista. Yung ka-eksena ko is behind the camera. So wala siyang siyang coverage... Usually some actor ang ginagawa nila binabato lang nila yung linya. Si Kath, binabato niya talaga kung paano niya ginagawa 'pag sa kanya nakaharap yung camera. And that helps a lot."
In rating Kathryn as an actress, Dolly gave her a score of nine out of a perfect ten.
"Kaya hindi perfect score kasi learning and growing is never ending," she explained. "There's always room for improvement. And perfect can never be achieved. But she's up there. And she has a very high mark."
If anything, Dolly believes that the reason Kathryn is a "very strong actress" is her ability to tap into her "vulnerable side."
"And she can express those emotions and flesh them out into a character, a living breathing human being. It takes skills and talents to be able to do that. And Kath has that," she maintained.

But she admitted to feeling nervous about meeting Kathryn for the first time.
"Ang impression ko kasi sa kanya, mabait siyang tao."
As it turned out, her initial impression was spot on.
More than that, she discovered that Kathryn is "cool."
"Ang creative niya... Ang dami niyang ideas."

In "A Very Good Girl," Kathryn is going to tackle her darkest role yet as Philo, a socialite aming to take down Dolly's Mother Molly, a business tycoon.

The film serves as Kathryn’s big theatrical comeback after the success of her 2019 box office hit, “Hello, Love, Goodbye.”
It is Dolly's first lead role and first ABS-CBN film.
Completing the stellar cast of “A Very Good Girl” are Chie Filomeno, Jake Ejercito, Gillian Vicencio, Kaori Oinuma, Ana Abad Santos, Nour Hooshmand, Donna Cariaga, Althea Ruedas, Nathania Guerrero, and Angel Aquino.
It will be showing in cinemas nationwide starting Sept. 27.
