TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – The Cagayan Valley Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CVRDRRMC) is on red alert status due to tropical cyclone "Goring."
CVRDRRMC Director Leon DG Rafael Jr., in a memorandum, said the red alert status is effective 8 a.m. on Friday, August 25, and all Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (DRRMOs) are required to monitor their areas of responsibility (AOR) and strictly implement the "No sailing, fishing, and swimming" policy in the oceans covered by their AOR.
Rafael also ordered that all Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (LDRRMCs) must submit their preparedness measures and incident monitoring.
Unaffected areas were urged to form Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response Teams to help those affected by the typhoon.
LDRRMCs were mandated to conduct a pre-disaster risk assessment.
"Charlie Protocol" has been activated which means that the selected response clusters and various rescue assets of the CVRDRRMC have been activated in preparation for the possible impact of Goring.
