TACLOBAN CITY – The provincial government of Samar has distributed P3,000 educational assistance to 10,088 scholars.
The payout, which started in July until this week, was held in time for the second semester of academic year 2022 to 2023.
At least 10 scholars from each of the 951 barangays of the province were chosen as beneficiaries aside from the 30 chosen scholars of every board member in the first and second districts.
Samar Rep. Stephen James Tan said that the educational assistance program of the province aims to alleviate the financial burden of the students and their parents.
“I hope that through this assistance, we get to help you in fulfilling your dreams. I also trust that you will use the money wisely towards where it is intended, your education,” Tan added.
Samar second district Rep. Reynolds Michael Tan said he will ensure that this cash assistance will be given within the semester.
“It is my earnest yearning that no one will be left behind in terms of education. I also look forward to the day wherein no Samarnon is left uneducated,” the congressman said.
