NLEX closes all access points to Philippine Arena on Aug. 25 for FIBA opening

The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corporation will close all its access points towards the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan starting 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 25, in a bid to ensure the free-flow of traffic for delegates of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) World Cup 2023.

In a statement, the NLEX Corp. said those which will be closed to public access include the Ciudad de Victoria toll plaza northbound exit, southbound ramp exit, Igulot intersection access via Mc Arthur highway and the Gate 3 (backdoor) in Barangay Bolakan.

“Only P2P buses and vehicles authorized by FIBA with valid Vehicle Access and Parking Permits will be allowed to enter Ciudad de Victoria,” the statement read.

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. has suspended the classes and work in Metro Manila and Bulacan to give way to the smooth opening of the FIBA World Cup at the Philippine Arena on Friday, Aug. 25.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) and other government agencies have already set up the security measures for the international event which include securing the routes of the FIBA players and other delegates.

The NLEX Corp. advised the public to take alternate routes via Marilao, Bocaue or Tambubong.
