A motorist who allegedly parked a sports utility vehicle (SUV) in the middle of the road near the entrance of a school in Mandaluyong City is facing either suspension or cancellation of driver’s license.

LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II said he already received the letter from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) which seeks for punishment on the driver what it described as a sense of entitlement.

“I personally saw the photo of the incident and I could not help but shake my head while also reading the letter of the MMDA which detailed what happened,” said Mendoza.

“But as part of the due process, we will conduct an investigation to identify the driver and eventually summon him and ask him to explain why he should not lose the privilege of being granted a driver’s license,” he added.

Based on the letter sent by the MMDA, the incident happened on August 16 involving a Toyota Fortuner. The driver allegedly left the car in the middle of the road and entered the school nearby.

The incident, according to the MMDA, aggravated the traffic congestion in the area.

The MMDA pointed out that what the driver did was in violation of Republic Act No. 4136 or an obstruction of traffic, adding that this could warrant the suspension of the driver’s license.

In response, Mendoza assured that the case will be resolved in the soonest possible time.
