With only a day to go before the FIBA Basketball World Cup kicks off at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan, Italy head coach Gianmarco Pozzecco has something to say about the Metro Manila traffic.

In a press conference, Pozzecco on Thursday, Aug. 24, shared his sentiments for the Filipinos' hospitable trait as well as the nation's love for basketball. However, he also encouraged everyone to “stay at home” and refrain from going out in relation to Manila’s traffic situation.
“First of all, I want to thank you with the people from the Philippines, they are so lovely. They love basketball of course, and we feel that they treat us so good. But please, from today, try to stay home and don’t go out [with your] car, so we will not have too much traffic. If you need to go out, go to work. Don’t go out just for fun, please,” he urged.
Pozzecco also revealed that he is a huge fan of Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao.
He mentioned that he wants to meet the boxing legend during his stay in the country for the FIBA World Cup 2023.
“I want to meet Manny Pacquiao, so organize this kind of meet, please. Thanks,” he said.
