Foreigner nabbed for assault, non-payment of bill at Makati bar
A 30-year-old Irish national was arrested by operatives of the Makati City Police on Wednesday, Aug. 23, for hurting a bouncer at a local bar and not paying his bill of more than P20,000.
The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as Fitzgibbon Adam.
According to the police, the suspect was having a drinking spree at a bar along P. Burgos Street in Barangay Poblacion when he became unruly and aggressive after receiving his bill of P23,479.50.
The bouncer of the bar, who is also the complainant, tried to pacify Adam when he suddenly struck him on the right side of his face. Witnesses and patrons of the bar commented that the suspect was highly intoxicated during the altercation.
The bouncer tried to accompany Adam to a nearby ATM to get the cash and settle his bill when the latter attempted to escape. He was caught by the bouncer.
Adam was taken into custody by law enforcers from the Poblacion Substation for documentation and underwent a medical examination at the Ospital ng Makati (OsMak).
The suspect is currently detained at the Station Custodial Facility of the Makati City Police Station and is now facing charges of physical assault and dine and dash which is a form of theft.
