DepEd probes 'nefarious scheme' involving school building program
The Department of Education (DepEd) has initiated an investigation into an incident involving "unscrupulous individuals" who are falsely claiming to be authorized representatives or officials from its School Infrastructure and Facilities (SIF) strand.

In an advisory issued on Thursday, Aug. 24, DepEd cautioned the public against individuals who are falsely presenting themselves as authorized representatives or officials from the SIF strand.
They do so with the intention of soliciting money or goods in exchange for receiving favorable prioritization within the School Building Program (SBP).
"These individuals hold no authority over the SBP or any other departmental program," DepEd emphasized.
DepEd also clarified that the list of SBP beneficiaries is determined based on established need-based parameters.
"Under no circumstances can any official, personnel, or individual influence these guidelines and standards," DepEd reiterated.
The department emphasized its zero-tolerance policy towards such actions and has already "initiated an investigation into this nefarious scheme."
DepEd strongly encouraged "anyone who has encountered such individuals" to report the incidents directly to the Office of the Secretary at [email protected], providing evidence such as photographs, recordings, and other relevant materials.
