8 complainants file robbery cases vs. Imus resto holduppers

CAVITE – Eight victims of the viral robbery holdup incident in a restaurant in Imus City filed robbery cases against the suspects at the City Prosecutor's Office, the Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) disclosed on Thursday, Aug. 24.

On Aug. 22, Imus City Police Station (CPS) operatives collared one of the six suspects, identified as Meljohn P. Rutaquiao, in a follow-up operation in Pasay City. Recovered from the suspect was a motorcycle reportedly used during the commission of the crime.
Rutaquiao named the alleged leader of the group as Mark Randolf C. Cruz alias Macmac.

Aside from Cruz, suspects identified only as alias Rudy and alias Onyok, as well as two other suspects yet to be identified, remain at large.
In a statement, Cavite PPO Director Col. Christopher Olazo said the police will continue their follow-up operations until all suspects are placed behind bars. He also appealed to the public to report any information that could lead to the arrest of the five other suspects.
A CCTV footage of the holdup that transpired on Aug. 22 has gone viral on Facebook, with the video showing a group of armed individuals wearing helmets and face marks entering the restaurant.
The suspects can be seen grabbing bags and other valuables from customers' tables before swiftly leaving the crime scene about a minute after they walked in.
