Thirty families lost their homes when a fire broke out along Chesa St., Golden Acres Subdivision, Barangay Talon Singko, Las Piñas on Wednesday night, Aug. 23.

According to the Las Piñas - Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP), the fire started at around 6:43 p.m. and was placed under control at 7:37 p.m.
Fire Marshal Supt. Melchor Isidro said the fire reached the second alarm and was declared fire out at 9:43 p.m.
He said 20 fire trucks from the BFP, along with fire volunteers from nearby barangays and cities immediately responded to control the fire.
The BPF said 20 residential houses mostly made of light materials were destroyed during the incident.
Isidro said the affected families were brought by the responding team from the Las Piñas City Social Welfare and Development Office to Barangay Talon Singko covered court.
The CWSD immediately set up modular tents at the covered court for the affected families where they were also given meals.
The BFP said the cause and the damage caused by the fire are still under investigation.
