Village dad busted for shabu in Bohol

CEBU CITY – A barangay councilor was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Loay town, Bohol on Tuesday night, August 22.

Jonardo Gamil Apduhan Sr., 45, yielded six packs of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P20,400.

Leia Alcantara, spokesperson of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas, said Apduhan is an incumbent councilor in Barangay Alegria Sur, Loay.

Alcantara said the suspect planned to run for barangay captain in the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections in October.

She added that Apduhan had been identified as a drug personality who completed his community-based drug rehabilitation program in 2021.

“Based on the monitoring, he just started selling illegal drugs this year,” said Alcantara.

The suspect was arrested after a month of close monitoring, Alcantara said.
