ILOILO CITY – The Police Regional Office-6 has honored a policeman who died of a heart attack while serving a warrant of arrest in Miag-ao, Iloilo on August 13.

Police Brig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor, PRO-6 director, cited Police Executive Master Sgt. Carlos Patosa Villanueva of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (IPPO-PDEU).
“Villanueva is a good police officer, worthy of emulation for his dedication and commitment to duty,” said Villaflor after visiting the wake of Villanueva in Pototan, Iloilo.
The 45-year-old Villanueva was implementing warrant of arrest against drug suspect Richard Almeria when he suddenly collapsed.
Villanueva was taken to a hospital in neighboring Guimba town, Iloilo where he died.
Villanueva, team leader of the IPPO-PDEU Team 2, had led several successful anti-drug operations.
Villaflor assured that Villanueva would be given due recognition for his exemplary service to the Philippine National Police and the people.
