P164,000 shabu seized from drug pusher

BACOLOD CITY – Police seized suspected shabu worth more than P160,000 from a 42-year-old drug pusher in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Palampas, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, August 22.

The suspect was identified as Jofel Bacalla of Barangay 2.

Bacalla was arrested after he sold suspected shabu worth P1,100 to a police poseur-buyer.

Police Lt. Col. Jesus Mesahon, San Carlos police chief, said that Bacalla yielded a total of 24 grams of shabu worth P164,356.

Bacalla, a street-level individual, was subjected to monitoring after police learned that he was the source of illegal drugs of arrested drug suspects.

Mesahon said Bacalla sourced the illegal drugs from Cebu.

He said the suspect was previously jailed for drug pushing and was released in December last year through plea bargaining.
