BAUKO, Mountain Province – Three men were arrested for allegedly transporting marijuana bricks worth P1.9 million in Sitio Malupa, Abatan, this town, on August 23.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera Director Julius Padere identified the suspects as Christian Rico Navas Espiritu Santos, Alex Francisco Santos, and John Paul Jungkin de Leon, all from Teresa, Rizal.
Paderes said suspects were on their way to Baguio City on board a Toyota Vios when they were flagged down in a checkpoint.
An inspection was conducted and they yielded 16 dried marijuana leaves in brick form weighing 16.165 grams, 3.5 grams of dried leaves suspected to be kush, and one small tube with suspected marijuana residue.
Suspects face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
