Meralco announces power interruption in parts of Malate, Ermita

The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) said parts of Malate and Ermita in Manila will be affected by a scheduled power interruption on Saturday, Aug. 26., due to the maintenance, line reconductoring works, and the replacement of poles along Sinagoga, Remedios, Marcelo H. Del Pilar, Pedro Gil, Cuarteles, and Soldado Streets in Malate.

The power interruption will start from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the following areas: 

Portion of Cuarteles and Pedro Gil Streets from Roxas Boulevard East Service Road to Marcelo H. Del Pilar Street, including the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Ermita; Portion of M.H. Del Pilar from Soldado Street in Ermita to Redemedios Street, including the Rajah Sulayman Park, Ramon Magsaysay Center, New Coast Hotel Manila, and Diamond Hotel in Malate; Portion of Quintos and Sinagoga Streets from M.H. Del Pilar Street, including A. Mabini Street in Malate; and Portion of Remedios Street from Roxas Boulevard to M.H. Del Pilar.

Meanwhile, the following areas will have no electricity from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., and 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.: A. Mabini Street from Sinagoga Street to San Andres Street, including the Our Lady of Remedies Parish Church, Grand Yoko Red Planet Hotels, and Metropolitan Tower in Malate; a portion of Madre Ignacia Street from Adriatico Interior Street to San Andres Street, including the 1775 Adriatico Suites Manila in Malate; P a portion of Remedios Street from M. H. Del Pilar Street to Madre Ignacia Street, including the 18 1/2 Bar & Restaurant in Malate; and a portion of San Andres Street from Madre Ignacia Street to M. H. Del Pilar Street, including the Malate Catholic School Girls Department, Ma. Daniel Building and the Aristocrat Restaurant in Malate.
