Man dies in motorcycle crash in Negros

BACOLOD CITY – A man died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car in Barangay Punta Mesa, Manapla, Negros Occidental on Monday, August 21.

Police identified the victim as Christopher Montebano, 33, of Victorias City, Negros Occidental.

Police Major Jaynick Bermudez, Manapla police chief, said the speeding motorcycle overtook a vehicle and overlapped on the lane of a Hyundai Starex, resulting in a head-on collision.

Bermudez said the motorcycle caught fire due to the impact.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.

Bermudez said that both parties had an initial settlement.
