9-month-old baby dies, mother hurt in Caloocan fire

A nine-month-old baby died while his 39-year-old mother was injured after a fire gutted their house in Barangay 176, Caloocan City on Tuesday evening, Aug. 22.

The Bureau of Fire Protection said the fire at Phase 8 Package 12 in the said barangay was raised to first alarm at around 8:63 p.m. It was declared under control at around 7:10 p.m.

The blaze was extinguished at around 7:20 p.m. 

The incident caused an estimated P50,000 damage to property.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire which was reported to have originated from one of the bedrooms of the house.
