Eufronia Pitong Fernandez, a resident of Hacienda Ruiz, Purok 12, Barangay Libacao, passed away around 7 p.m. on August 8, four days after she celebrated her 103rd birth anniversary on August 5, according to the PSA-Negros Occidental.

PSA Chief Statistical Specialist Luis Gonzales, along with the City Civil Registry Office (CCRO), turned over the PSA-issued birth certificate on official security paper to the children of Fernandez at their residence on August 10.

Fernandez was set to become the province’s oldest beneficiary of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Birth Registration Assistance Project (PBRAP).

The CCRO visited Fernandez on July 18 after one of her children sought assistance to enable her to get a birth certificate during the mobile registration by the CCRO with the assistance of a PSA agent.

On July 13, a 101-year-old woman from Kabankalan City also received her PSA-issued birth certificate.

Enriquita Quillano Olitan, who was born on September 5, 1921, received the document at her residence in Purok Narra 1, Barangay Tampalon.

The PSA continues to hold mobile registration of birth certificates in various barangays in this city.
