Xiaomi launches a series of new devices

Xiaomi has recently launched a series of new products at Beijing, during the "Lei Jun Annual Speech | Xiaomi Launch 2023. 

The event showcased the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3, Xiaomi Pad 6 Max 14, Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro, Redmi K60 Ultra, and the CyberDog 2. 

Lei Jun, founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi Group, gave his annual speech about these innovations.

"We focus on long-term value and adhere to long-term investment. Only in this way can we build core competitiveness and a rampart around us, and truly become a great technology company," Lei Jun said, and added Xiaomi's exploration into technology not only has to be of benefit to the lives of mankind today, but also needs to contribute to the creation, progress, and development of the future of humanity.

In smartphones, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 is their newest entry to foldable flagship smartphones. The new Micro Waterdrop hinge has allowed the MIX Fold 3 to be slimmer, bringing it closer to smartphone sizes that many of us are familiar with today.

The event spoke at great length in discussing the hinge, including 12 micro-hinges for more freedom, improved durability, and thecarbon ceramic steel rotating mechanism to further strengthen the hinge.

The Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 uses Ultra Thin Glass, plus Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and Xiaomi's own developed composite fiber to improve the smartphone's durability and drop resistance. 

Xiaomi promises the MIX Fold 3 has achieved the TÜV Rheinland Extreme Folding certification for up to 500,000 folds.

The Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 has Leica tech in their four rear cameras, which also includes a periscope lens. And of course, because this is a flagship device, the MIX Fold 3 has Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 inside it.

We don't know if the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 will enter the Philippine market. Having a selection of more foldables sounds an exciting prospect. We sure are excited to check it out ourselves should it fall into our hands. 

Meanwhile, Xiaomi has also launched the CyberDog 2. 

Xiaomi's new robotic pet dog is about the size of a Doberman, according to their press release. It's equipped with Xiaomi's CyberGear Micro-actuator, which supports various maneuvers, including a back flip and fall recovery. CyberDog 2 also has a decision making system with 19 sensors for sight, touch, and hearing. 

Xiaomi said CyberDog 2 is developed as open-source, in order to attract more developers to continue improving the cyber pet.
