Vice Ganda figures in 4-vehicle mishap in QC

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) confirmed on Tuesday, Aug. 22, that comedian and actor Vice Ganda figured in a road accident involving four vehicles along Katipunan Avenue in Barangay Loyola Heights, Quezon City on Sunday, Aug. 20.

Initial investigation disclosed that the incident occurred at around 1:40 a.m. on Sunday where the involved vehicles were traversing the northbound lane of the thoroughfare coming from Aurora Boulevard going to CP. Garcia Avenue.

A Mitsubishi Canter close van driven by one Andrew Pedrigal Oliveros, a Lalamove delivery rider, suddenly hit the right side of a Suzuki APV.

The van also bumped the rear right side portion of the Cadillac Escalade sports utility vehicle where Vice Ganda was on board, as well as the left portion of a Mercedes Benz C250 sedan on the road.

Authorities are yet to disclose the estimated amount of damage caused by the incident. No one was reported injured.

Vice Ganda reported the accident during the “It’s Showtime” episode on Monday, Aug. 21.

The comedian called on the Lalamove management to assist the delivery driver who allegedly fell asleep while driving.

Videos of the incident also went viral on social media, with netizens praising the comedian for helping the other persons involved in the incident and advising them to remain calm as authorities arrived to assist them.

The incident is still under investigation, police said.
