The 46-year-old female employer in Hong Kong who was caught on camera strangling her Filipina domestic helper was arrested, April Dadula's mother confirmed.

In a Facebook live video that went viral on Aug. 18, the 28-year-old Overseas Filipina Worker (OFW) April Dadula was showing her belongings when her employer suddenly attacked and strangled her.

Her mother said the reason for her daughter's live video was to prove that she did not steal any belongings from her employers.

She added that they were afraid that her boss would put something else in her luggage.

Dadula also called on her viewers several times to call the police. She also demanded help from President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and Senator Raffy Tulfo, who heads the Committee on Overseas Workers Affairs in the Senate.

According to Dadula, she resigned from her job and was about to get away when her employers ran after her.

Her female boss was seen in the video yelling at her and strangling her several times.

She also slammed the Pinay worker against a metal pillar.

Dadula announced in her Facebook post that her employer was arrested following the incident, but got out of detention after posting bail.

Her mother continues to appeal to the embassy and the office of the Overseas Workers Welfare Organization (OWWA) to help her daughter return home to Oton, Iloilo.
