SOLANO, Nueva Vizcaya – The Department of Public Works and Highways-Nueva Vizcaya First District Engineering Office has completed the P60-million Bangar flood mitigation project here.
The project has a length of 520-linear meters and is rubble concrete with gabions and mattresses scour protection.
DPWH said dilapidated spur dikes have been replaced to enhance the overall effectiveness of the flood control system.
The construction of the infrastructure under the leadership of District Engineer Marifel T. Andes will benefit residents and reduce the risk of potential damage to properties, infrastructures, and crops in the province.
This proactive approach to flood control ensures the safety and security of the local population, enabling them to live and work without constant fear of flooding events, the DPWH said.
The DPWH added it will not only safeguard the livelihood of residents but it will also promote economic stability by protecting vital agricultural lands and ensuring the smooth operation of businesses.
