Quezon City Wilcon Depot defied the odds and turned heads to rule the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3 Quest 3.0 on Saturday, Aug. 19, at Ayala Malls Solenad in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

Spanish gunner Jose Blasquez was the difference maker for the squad, lighting it up in the championship game to take the 19-15 victory over Pasig Banh Mi Kitchen.
He fired nine points to carry the scoring load for Wilcon Depot, while also drawing seven points from TH Tumalip and three from Yutien Andrada.
“We were fortunate when we invited him, available siya and he’s willing to go here,” said coach Anton Altamirano of Blasquez.
Keith Datu also made significant contributions for Wilcon Depot as it went on a perfect five-game run in this quest that allowed it to qualify for the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Cebu Masters in September.
The Quezon City-based crew took home P100,000 for reigning supreme in this tilt.
Wilcon Depot topped Pool A with a 3-0 record and disposed Makati MNL Kingpin, 22-20, in a thrilling semifinals affair in this dream run.
“Honestly, we didn’t expect anything. We just wanted to give our best in this kind of competition and then si God na yung bahala sa results,” said Altamirano. “We’re really blessed na maganda ang naging results namin dito sa tournament na ito.”
Louie Vigil, who was part of the Wilcon Depot squad in PBA 3x3, carried the fight for Banh Mi Kitchen with four points in the runner-up finish.
It’s a landmark achievement for the Wilcon Depot squad which got a third place leg finish in the recently concluded PBA 3x3 Season 3 First Conference.
