Delivery rider drowns in Quezon

MAUBAN, Quezon – A 23-year-old delivery rider drowned in the sea in Sitio Bulawagin, Barangay Cagsiay 1, here on Sunday morning, August 20.

Police identified the victim as Fernando Bandalaria of Camarin, Caloocan City.

The victim’s friend, Jeffrey Pelesigas, told police that Bandalaria left their rented cabin at around 11 p.m. on August 19 without informing him.

Police learned that the victim was drunk at that time and did not know how to swim.

Bandalaria’s body was seen by a woman floating on the sea the next morning which was promptly reported to the police.

Police brought the victim’s body to the Mauban District Hospital where he was declared dead.

Based on initial observation, police said there is no foul play on the body of the victim.
