PSE wants more listed firms to hold quarterly briefings
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) is encouraging all publicly-listed firms to conduct quarterly briefings on their financial performances to cultivate healthy investor relations.
This came after a group of 10 publicly-listed companies (PLCs) featured in the PSE STAR (Strengthening Access and Reach): Investor Day 2023 conducted a mid-year earnings briefing last Aug. 16 and 17.
Co-hosted by the PSE and Bloomberg LP, the event was attended by buy and sell side analysts, foreign and domestic investors, and business journalists.
During the event, PSE President and CEO Ramon S. Monzon highlighted the participation of two PLCs listed on the Exchange’s Small, Medium and Emerging Board, House Talk Inc. and Italpinas Development Corporation.
“This shows that good investor relations practices, including the conduct of quarterly earnings briefings, are very much doable regardless of company size,” he noted.
Monzon added that, “the increased exposure of investors to these presentations will hopefully create demand for regular briefings, especially among companies that have not initiated this practice.”
The PSE STAR-featured companies include ACEN Corporation (ACEN), DMCI Holdings Inc. (DMC), East West Banking Corporation (EW), Ginebra San Miguel Inc. (GSMI), GT Capital Holdings Inc. (GTCAP), Haus Talk, Integrated Microelectronics Inc. (IMI), Italpinas, Puregold Price Club Inc. (PGOLD), and SM Investments Corporation (SM).
Aside from the live presentations and question and answer segments with the featured PLCs, recorded first half company briefings by 15 listed firms that took part in previous PSE STAR editions were uploaded on the event’s website for on-demand viewing by attendees.
These PLCs include Aboitiz Power Corporation, Alliance Global Group Inc., Cebu Air Inc., Cebu Landmasters Inc., China Banking Corporation, Citicore Energy REIT Corp., D&L Industries Inc., D.M. Wenceslao & Associates Incorporated, Manila Water Company Inc., Megawide Construction Corporation, Monde Nissin Corporation, MREIT Inc., Philex Mining Corporation, Semirara Mining and Power Corporation and Union Bank of the Philippines.
The Fund Managers Association of the Philippines (FMAP) and Trust Officers Association of the Philippines (TOAP) were the Exchange’s partners for the event.
The next edition of PSE STAR: Investor Day will be held in November 2023.
