A man wanted by police for stealing and using a woman's ATM card was arrested by Pasay police officers in Antipolo City during a manhunt operation on Friday, Aug. 18.
The Southern Police District (SPD) said the suspect was identified as Denden Quilisado,42, tagged as the top five most wanted person for the third quarter of 2023.
Col. Froilan Uy, city police chief, said Quilisado was arrested at around 11:00 a.m. along Dimsum St., Barangay Cupang, Antipolo City.
Uy said the suspect reportedly stole an ATM card that was placed inside the bag of the female victim on March 9, 2022.
After discovering that her ATM card was missing, she immediately went to a bank located at Double Dragon Building in Macapagal Avenue, EDSA Extension and reported the missing card.
The city police chief said the victim was informed that three withdrawals were made using her ATM card, amounting to P200,000.
Uy said members of the Warrant and Subpoena Section (WSS) conducted a manhunt operation leading to the arrest of Quilisado.
He said the suspect was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest for violation of the Access Devices Regulations Act on three counts, issued by Judge Marjury Almojera Madrid-Songgadan of the Pasay City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 117.
The city police chief said Songgadan issued the warrant on January 6, 2023 with bail recommended of P60,000.
The suspect was immediately detained at the Pasay police custodial facility after his arrest.
