Typhoon-enhanced 'habagat' to continue to bring rains
Despite the departure of typhoon Falcon from the country’s area of responsibility, it is still enhancing the effect of the southwest monsoon, which continues to bring rains to parts of Luzon, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Wednesday, Aug. 2.
The enhanced southwest monsoon, or "habagat," may cause scattered to widespread heavy rains in Zambales and Bataan over the next 24 hours, according to PAGASA.
Metro Manila, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Pampanga, Bulacan, and Occidental Mindoro may also experience occasional moderate to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are possible in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, Nueva Ecija, Aurora, Tarlac, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan.
PAGASA warned of possible flooding or landslides in these areas.
The rest of the country will continue to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or localized thunderstorms.
